From the outset, the design was guided by a vision that spoke to Addisons’ ethos through a design narrative inspired by mechanical clocks. “Mechanical clocks are often made from brass or stainless steel with rich-toned timbers—so that became our material language. From there, we built out our design pillars of rhythm, detail and materiality,” explains Anita Zampichelli, Associate Director at Studio Tate.

With a keen understanding of how to allocate resources effectively, Studio Tate concentrated premium materials in key client-facing areas, such as the front of house and boardroom. Luxurious rug inlays, feature lighting from Santa & Cole, and high-end furniture contribute to a refined yet welcoming arrival experience. However, achieving this level of detail within budget required strategic material choices—including the use of Eveneer WoodWall, an innovative timber veneer wallcovering by Elton Group.

Studio Tate found Eveneer WoodWall in Walnut-Planked to be an exceptional option to use throughout the reception and boardroom. In these high-impact zones, the timber wraps from floor-to-ceiling with a complementary bronze skirting, bringing depth and richness.  “WoodWall is the real deal,” says Zampichelli. “As a product, we love it. It’s easily applied, and we’ve used it in multiple projects.”

Beyond aesthetics, reliability was a key factor in specifying WoodWall. The product not only provides the warmth and natural beauty of real timber but also ensures consistency in application and ease of installation. “There’s a security in knowing it’s going to look good,” notes Zampichelli. The installation of WoodWall was seamless, thanks to the specification of an experienced Elton Group-approved installer. “The installer knew exactly how to work with it, which gave us peace of mind,” Zampichelli adds. The result is a cohesive workplace that exudes refinement while maintaining a practical and cost-effective approach.

Throughout the office, the careful balance of high-impact statement pieces and intelligent material substitutions underscores Studio Tate’s design ethos: creating spaces that are both beautiful and functional. Addisons Sydney is a testament to how smart design thinking and innovative materials like Eveneer WoodWall can transform a workplace.
