We were proud to see Australian design so strongly represented on the international stage. Friends and collaborators from across the Australian design community brought a local voice—an inspiring show by Ross Gardam, and vibrant tours by The Local Project and Dulux. Illuminating conversation took place at Indesign’s iGuzzini breakfast talk with David Hicks and lighting designer Genevieve Wild sitting on the expert panel.
Bethan Laura Wood, whose dynamic and distinctive visual language, notably with ALPI veneers, was developed into an awe-inspiring piece for NGV’S women in Design, presented an installation in collaboration with Serapian as part of the celebration of Mestieri d’arte.
Another highlight was Best of Both Worlds – an exhibition that reimagined the domestic interior, designed by ALPI’s Creative Director Piero Lissoni. Lissoni also designed ALPI’s stand at Rho Fiera, perfectly capturing the brand’s essence of craftsmanship.
Viewing the latest ALPI releases first-hand was made even more special by spending time with Vittorio Alpi, the president and owner of ALPI Wood by Design.
As ever, Milan was a reminder of the enduring power of design to connect, inspire and evolve. The Elton Group team returns energised and full of ideas, and we look forward to sharing more in the months to come.
